Engaging the public in the ethics of nanotechnology.
Nanotechnology offers unprecedented potential for society but may raise ethical issues.
Power of Small uses short videos from a Public Broadcasting Series to present ethical scenarios on privacy, health and the environment related to nanotechnology. Visitors respond by voting, commenting, uploading video, or sharing using social media.
Edu helped The Center for Technology Innovation at UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science to develop the scenarios through story boarding and user testing. Edu convened panels of diverse testers to provide designers feedback on web comics, website navigation, and interactivity.
