Tech City is a fun, interactive cityscape designed to encourage middle-school girls and ethnic minority children to become engineers. Hands-on exhibits challenge visitors to solve design challenges from various fields of engineering.
A partnership between the Cornell University College of Engineering and the Sciencenter hands-on museum, Tech City reached over one million people.
Edu recruited minority community leaders, children, and teachers to advise designers. Focus groups evaluated signs, video, and computer interfaces. A summative study documented outcomes.
